Thai Tai’s story began in 2004, when our founders set out to bring something unique to Calgary’s food scene. The first Thai Tai opened on 17th Avenue, where fresh, flavourful Vietnamese street food quickly turned it into a local staple.
Our menu is built around Vietnamese subs and banh mi, with more than 15 fillings — from the Spicy Sate Chicken Sub to cold cut, pork rib, tofu and beef ball. Alongside them you will find pho, wonton and noodle soups, spring rolls, the Ultimate Bowl, Grilled Lemongrass Chicken Bowl, vermicelli bowls, Vietnamese pork chops, bubble tea and smoothies.
Over the years Thai Tai moved to other Calgary locations while keeping its Vietnamese street food identity. In 2026 we returned to 17th Avenue at 608 17 Avenue SW — steps from Mission, Cliff Bungalow, Lower Mount Royal, Victoria Park and Downtown Calgary.
